Our Mission

We are a spiritual resource library desiring to help all people come to know and love the God of the bible. In particular, we are focused on providing relevant teaching and spiritual food to English and Mandarin speakers.

All of our material is spoken or written in English with Chinese translation, and meant to be used for personal encouragement, as a tool for discipleship, or as a small group resource.

Our Approach

Our name serves as a reminder that humility is the secret to knowing God. We are the first to acknowledge that our own pride can get in the way of God’s leading and grace. Eating a piece of humble pie is good for the soul.

Our Story

Theme verse:

Romans 10:14-15
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Core Values

  1. Love for Scripture and Jesus: Our teaching will be focused on helping all people have a genuine love for Scripture and Jesus. We point people to Jesus and desire our hearers to find their identity in Jesus.
  2. Intentional contextualization of sound theology and doctrine. Whether in the content of our teaching, translations, or visuals, we want to make sound theology relevant to the bi-lingual world. We want to be intentional and relevant with how we present our teaching.
  3. Building Community centered on the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Whether someone is plugged in to a church community or not, our aim is to provide content and tools that help believers build Christian community.
  4. Holy Spirit led and empowered. We value being led by the Spirit of God, thus we prioritize relationships, love, and living by faith for how we move forward for projects and alliances.
  5. Missionary perspective and priority. We value crossing cultures with the Gospel and believe that God empowers us when we are proactively going outside our own ethnic, national, or social comfort zones.

Statement of Faith

We believe in1:

    1. The sovereignty and grace of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in creation, providence, revelation, redemption, and final judgement.
    2. The divine inspiration of Holy Scripture and its consequent entire trustworthiness and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
    3. The universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the fall, bringing everyone under God's wrath and condemnation.
    4. The substitutionary sacrifice of the incarnate Son of God as the sole ground of redemption from the guilt, penalty, and power of sin.
    5. The justification of the sinner by the grace of God through faith alone in Christ crucified and risen from the dead.
    6. The illuminating, regenerating, indwelling, and sanctifying work of God the Holy Spirit in the believer.
    7. The unity and common priesthood of all true believers, who together form the one universal Church, the Body of which Christ is the Head.
    8. The expectation of the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
